We traveled to Lençóís, the central city in the National Park Chapada Diamantina, with the express bus service ‘Reaal Expresso’. Without a reservation we found Lençóís Pousada Hélia. An organically built micro mountain village, that is what it resembles. Pretty apartments, almost all with private entrance in front. Cute. Against a mountainside, stunning views, surrounded by nature and yet only about 500 meters from the center of Lençóís, a small and picturesque town.
An open kitchen and dining room where the hostess Hélia (pronounced: Èlia) rules their 100% home made ‘Café de Manha’ (breakfast). Trajano, her husband, is her aid in this service. Trajano speaks English pretty well, is a qualified tour guide and very entertaining. We paid R$ 105, – per night for a three-persons apartment, breakfast included. It was a pleasure to be their quests. An enjoyable stay and highly recommended.
